Trillions of Seconds

by Koda

I am that tiny speck, adrift within the chaos of the cosmos. Swimming through an ocean of inevitabilities, where the crashing waves whisper ceaseless curses, begging me to surrender my hope.

But no, I never pay them mind. I harbor only a single wish: to wash ashore on the coast of answers and longing. You might be confused by all this rambling, but trust me, I am just as bewildered as you are— wondering why I seem to be the only one thinking.

I ask you to hold on just a little longer, to wait for me, hoping that God might steer my current toward you. And please understand, you are not who you think you are.

Trillions of seconds have slipped away, spent on nothing but thought. It seems this vessel was never designed to truly comprehend a thing.

Once, amidst the hollow echoes of the waves, I encountered an entity just like me. It was merely a passing glance. He drew a deep, heavy sigh—perhaps resigned to the tide. I was the one who broke the silence: "How much do you understand yourself?"

Briefly, from the fading distance, he called back: "I am you. That is enough." And just like that, he drifted past, carried away by the current.

I did not quite grasp his words. I spent who knows how long trying to forge a conclusion. Until a sudden rush of shame washed over me. And so, once again, I stopped thinking.
